About the Journal

The review journal published by the top professional institution of Czech ethnology, the Czech Ethnological Society, focuses on studies of traditional folk culture of the Central European region, current cultural forms developing from folklore traditions and topics in the field of historical ethnology. The Ethnographic Journal (in the original called Národopisný věstník) is the second oldest professional journal of Czech ethnology.

The Ethnographical Journal is inscribed in the following international bibliographical databases: SCOPUS, ERIH PLUS (European Reference Index for the Humanities), EBSCOAIO (The Anthropological Index Online of the Royal – Anthropological Institute) and CEJSH (Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities).

 The Ethnographical Journal is issued twice a year – the first number in June and the second one in December.

 The articles published in the Ethnographical Journal have been reviewed since 2007.
